Audily – Privacy Policy

Overview

Audily is a personal, non-commercial Chrome extension that records Google Meet meetings (only after an explicit user action) and generates transcripts and summaries using the user's own Google Gemini API key ("Bring Your Own Key").

Data the extension handles

1. Meeting audio & personal communications

• Tab audio of the Google Meet call and your microphone are recorded only after you explicitly start a recording (with a consent confirmation reminding you to inform participants).
• Audio (MP3), transcripts, and summaries are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB) and are automatically deleted after a retention period you control (default 30 days). You can delete any recording at any time from the History page.

2. Credentials you provide (stored locally only)

• Google Gemini API key, Slack bot token, Google OAuth Client ID and short-lived Drive access token — stored in chrome.storage.local on your device only, never transmitted to the developer.

3. Recipient identifiers

• If you use the Slack export, the recipient email / user ID / channel ID you enter is stored locally and sent to Slack's API solely to deliver your message.

Where data is sent (only on your action, with your keys)

• Google Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com): recorded audio and prompts are sent directly from your browser using your own API key to generate transcripts/summaries. Handling of that data is governed by Google's Gemini API terms. Note: on Google's free tier, Google may use submitted content to improve its products — use a paid-tier key for confidential content.
• Slack API (slack.com): only the meeting summary you explicitly choose to send, using your bot token, after a preview and confirmation.
• Google Drive API (googleapis.com, scope drive.file): only files you explicitly choose to upload, using your own OAuth client. The drive.file scope only allows access to files created by Audily itself.

What Audily does NOT do

• No developer servers, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting.
• No selling or transferring user data to third parties.
• No use of data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose (recording & summarizing meetings).
• No use of data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
• No remote code execution — all code ships inside the extension package.

Your responsibilities & rights

• Always inform meeting participants before recording; comply with your local laws and organizational policies on call recording.
• All data can be deleted at any time (History page → delete, or uninstall the extension, which removes all locally stored data).

Audily là tiện ích Chrome cá nhân, phi thương mại: ghi âm cuộc họp Google Meet (chỉ khi bạn chủ động bấm ghi) và tạo transcript + tóm tắt bằng API key Gemini của chính bạn (BYOK).

Dữ liệu tiện ích xử lý

• Âm thanh cuộc họp & hội thoại: chỉ thu khi bạn chủ động bấm Bắt đầu (kèm xác nhận đã thông báo người tham gia). File MP3, transcript, tóm tắt lưu cục bộ trong trình duyệt (IndexedDB), tự xóa theo số ngày bạn cấu hình (mặc định 30 ngày), xóa thủ công được bất cứ lúc nào.
• Thông tin đăng nhập bạn cung cấp (Gemini API key, Slack bot token, Google OAuth Client ID): chỉ lưu trong chrome.storage.local trên máy bạn.
• Định danh người nhận Slack (email / user ID / channel ID): lưu cục bộ, chỉ gửi tới Slack API để chuyển tin nhắn của bạn.

Dữ liệu được gửi đi đâu (chỉ khi bạn thao tác, bằng key của bạn)

• Google Gemini API: audio + prompt gửi thẳng từ trình duyệt bằng key của bạn để tạo transcript/tóm tắt. Lưu ý: key thuộc free tier thì Google có thể dùng nội dung để cải thiện sản phẩm — dùng key đã bật billing cho nội dung bí mật.
• Slack: chỉ bản tóm tắt bạn chọn gửi, sau bước xem trước và xác nhận.
• Google Drive (scope drive.file — chỉ thấy file do Audily tạo): chỉ các file bạn chọn upload.

Audily KHÔNG làm gì

• Không server, không analytics, không telemetry.
• Không bán/chuyển dữ liệu cho bên thứ ba; không dùng dữ liệu ngoài mục đích duy nhất của tiện ích; không dùng cho đánh giá tín dụng.
• Không tải code từ xa.

Trách nhiệm của bạn: luôn thông báo cho người tham gia trước khi ghi âm và tuân thủ pháp luật/quy định nội bộ về ghi âm cuộc gọi. Gỡ tiện ích sẽ xóa toàn bộ dữ liệu cục bộ.
